Zeliatu Ahmed

Ph.D. Student, Information Systems

Zeliatu Ahmed, a PhD student in Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), with an interdisciplinary background that includes a BSc in Computer Science from Ghana, an MSc in Cybersecurity from the United Kingdom, and an MSc in Information Systems, Cybersecurity from the United States. Her research interests are in cybersecurity, data and information security, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on healthcare.

 


Zeliatu won the Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) 2026 Student Scholarship to attend the WiCyS 2026 Conference held on March 11–13, 2026, at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. During the event, she attended technical sessions, networking events, and the cybersecurity career fair, which provided opportunities to learn about current cybersecurity research, emerging technologies, and career pathways in the field.
